Okay, I just bought a guitar on ebay and I'm going to learn to play it!!!!!

It's coming today, and so I currently resemble a puppy dog as I sit by the front door and drool over the welcome mat. AUGH I can't wait. I'll post again to tell how it's going when it finally gets here. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go drool over the welcome mat.

General Conference

Hello, guys! As all or most of you know, General Conference was yesterday and today. I really enjoyed each of the talks, particularly Elder Wirthlin's talk on laughing in the face of adversity, trials, and sadness or embarrassment. What kept our entire family chuckling and rolling around for quite a while was the story of Elder Wirthlin's daughter's blind date. I'll tell it to you now, just in case you missed it.
Elder Wirthlin's daughter had been set up for a blind date. Soon there was a knock on the door. She answered it. She thought the man was a little on the old side, but she invited him in, introducing him to all her family. After that, she put on her coat, ushered the man out the door, and got into his car. Elder Wirthlin watched for several moments, as the car did not move, but he could see the man talking with his daughter. The daughter eventually got out, red faced, and hurriedly came back into the house to fetch her younger sister, for who the man had arranged a babysitting job to care for his children while he went out. Elder Wirthlin, his daughter, and the entire family were laughing so hard that it was hard to control themselves when the daughter's real blind date came. Actually, Elder Wirthlin couldn't control himself, so he sentenced himself to the kitchen, still heaving laughs while his daughter introduced the blind date to her family, other than her father.
Instead of being embarrassed, and humiliated, she decided to laugh along with everyone else, laughing it off and creating something funny out of something that could otherwise have ruined her night. We get to decide whether or not to be happy. I really liked that. It showed us that we can choose to be miserable, or we can choose to laugh and live longer.
Love you all!

Book of Mormon Trip!

Hi, everyone! Sorry about the posts (or lack thereof). Anywho, last night, Grandma and Grandpa Phil and Reesa took us on a special trip.
So, before they left on their mission, Grandma and Poppa gave all their grandkids a challenge to read the entire Book of Mormon by the time they got back home. Mikayla, Matt, Austin, Faith, Casey, and I all finished it, so they took us on a special Book of Mormon Field Trip!
First, Grandma and Grandpa picked us all up at around 12:30 pm. We all went to Temple Square, where we quickly walked through several pairs of missionaries, one of which tried to talk to us, but Grandpa dismissed them with, "We're Mormon and we're moving. Good luck today!" Without breaking stride, might I add...
We went to the Joseph Smith movie, where many much needed tissues were used (I wonder how many boxes of tissues those people go through per day...) and many lessons were learned. It made me think, Wow. They had to do all that, and what do we have to do?! Not turn on the TV at a certain time. Wow. We have it so easy. We had a nice discussion with a nice pair of sister missionaries from Germany and Brazil.
After that we went to This is the Place Monument and explored a little, took the train, and got severely rained on (which is the farthest thing from bad that I can think of). We saw antique pianos and really cool bedrooms and spinning wheels. I really don't think I could have done what they did, which is probably why I'm here instead of there.
When we were all too hungry to go any further, we went to Chuckarama (oh yeah, baby) and stuffed our hearts out, although I am proud to say that I didn't ever actually get full. HAPPY DAY!
So after we had tasted just about everything there, we went back to This is the Place and watched an awesome play, in which Poppa impressed us with his mad dancing skills.
We sang all the way home on the way back, and I found a package that contains my Geometry textbook so that I can finally start Geometry. :'( Ah well, life's good.
Love you all!

Schedule

Hello! I thought you guys might want to know about the online classes, and how that works out. Here's what I do.
I wake up at 5:30, get ready as if I was going to school, walk to the bus stop (I don't want to be socially deprived, and I love to talk to people), chat until the bus comes, walk home.
Then, I look at the classes I have for the day, print out a couple assignments for each class, go to my "office" (in our basement, I set up a little spot for myself), and work until about 9:00 am.
Then, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I go to the Legacy Center and run around the track and swim to get some exercise. Yes, I get many comments of, "Shouldn't you be in school?".
After that, I just work on my assignments until about 3 or 4 pm, then I have free time, or, if I get bored, I do more work.
There you go. You have been introduced to my boring life. Actually, I go on field trips and everything, so it's not actually boring.
See you all later!

DONE!

Alrighty, so I just finished enrolling for all my new classes. Navajo was out of slots (?) so I'm taking Japanese instead. Fun, right? Turns out I have to take Geometry in a textbook, though, because it's also out of seats. Same with US History, but it's all good. We'll FIND A WAY!! (duh, duh, duh). Everyone needs to e-mail me and tell me about their school, their summer, and their life. Yes, I care!
Cya all later!

Peace, man

Hey, guys, wassup?
I can't really decide whether or not to be excited. I don't really get to go back-to-school shopping (for clothes, at least) because I can wear whatever I want and no one would ever even know. However, I am really excited about taking the online classes. I will miss all my friends, but I'll keep in touch via e-mail. Thank you all for reading my dumb blog. Bye!

Idaho

Hey, Everybody! I'm in Idaho right now, and I forgot to bring my school schedule, so I won't post it.
Not like it matters, since I'm not going to Willowcreek next year anyway. I'm going to miss ALL my friends (a whole lot of which will be reading this) and one teacher (cough, cough, Mrs. Hayes). I can't take a dance class at home, which is really mean because I got into Intermediate Dance at school, even though I can't take it.
Anyway. I'm in IDAHO!! Visiting my relatives on my mom's side. The first day, we went to Boondocks and I ran into someone on the go-carts. I felt soooo bad, because he said he had a bad back and I caught him by surprise. I can relate, so I was guilty for the rest of the day.
Laser Tag is really fun. Enough said. Unless someone pushes your gun away so you can't shoot it and yells "What now? Huh? What now? Not so tough now, huh?" That got annoying. But she couldn't push my gun away because I kept swiveling, so she finally ran away screaming. Ha Ha.
Today, we went floating down a river! It was my first time even ever being in a river, so it was awesome. Our family bought two rafts. Mom, Faith, and I were in one, and Dad and Spence were in another. The little girls and Matt decided to stay home with the Grandparents. I loved the little waterfalls. They were soooo cool! It's late, so I've gotta go. BYE!

School Next Year

Hey, everybody! As most of you know, I'm not going to be going to Willowcreek next year.
Instead, I'm going to be taking online classes at home. I'm going to miss all my friends, but I hope to stay in touch with them over e-mail (hint, hint, to all you friends who are reading this).
We had to decide what classes I'm going to take. I had to take a foreign language, so I decided...brace yourselves, class, to take..........................................................Navajo. Yes, Navajo. I know it sounds really weird, but I think it'd be fun. Plus, Spanish was out of student slots.
Right now, over the summer, I'm taking a ninth grade English class to see what the school is like.
The Odyssey is the grossest book I've ever read. Don't read the Fitzgerald translation. It almost made me puke. I've gotta go now, but I'll do another post soon.
Bye!

Hey

Yellow. I invited a bunch of new people to view my blog, so this is for them. There are pictures of a lot of you on the side. A lot of these posts are dorky, but we're supposed to express our true selves through our blogs anyway, right? Kay. Everyone who reads this needs to e-mail me and tell me that you saw how dorky I am. Thanx!

Grandma and Grandpa Are Home!

YAY!!!!
Grandma and Grandpa are home from New Zealand! Dad, Matt, Faith, and I went over to their house yesterday. They gave us a presentation on what New Zealand was like.
There was a very cool sculpture of an anchor. The New Zealand anchors are called pung
(poong-a) and they are just a stone with a hole connecting it to the string on which it dangles.
There were some awesome pictures of birds that live there. There was the Tui, which makes a beautiful sound that Grandma says they heard almost every morning. That was my favorite. It was really cool. There are two little puffballs that poof out under their necks. The poofs are white, while the rest of the Tui's feathers are bluish-black.
They had a cute little stuffy of a kiwi (a flightless bird that lives in NZ). They gave us an abalone shell sculpture of a kiwi, too. They also gave us a beautiful bookmark. Mine has a map of New Zealand on it.

Thanks, Grandparents, and we are all so glad that you are back!

Girls' Camp!

Girls' Camp was soooo fun this year! From marshmallows to water fights, it was AWESOME!!

On the first day, we got there, unpacked, fought over our bunks, and stayed up 'till one. A prank was played on us about 10:00 pm. Someone (we would later find out it was our leaders) stuck a big, fat garden gnome (we would later find out it was a Santa Clause stuffy) lighted up with red lights on a broom and waved him around in our window, freaking us all out. When we got home, our leaders told us it was them. We also had a dance-off that night, everyone trying to do a cooler move than everyone else. It was a blast!

The next day was fun, but sad. That night, we were playing American Idol. I was a drunken Australian singer, and I won (my best friend Makelle was laughing her guts out)! Right after I was done with my song, Take Me Out To The Ballgame, someone knocked on our door and asked to see Makelle and M'Kaaylie, two of my friends. After a couple minutes, they called me out, too, and told me that our other best friend, Ashley was about to head home. Her dad had just died after a three year battle with cancer. Makelle and I hugged and cried, then, after a while, Ashley came over and all three of us sobbed for a couple minutes, hugging. Then she and her sister, Nicole, went home. Makelle and I went back inside the cabin and everyone...now, I thought this was really sweet, seeing as they didn't even know why Makelle and I were crying, but they all started crying with us. Around 12:00, we finally told them, and we stayed up 'till 2:00, everyone spread out in a circle on the ground.

The next day was very fun, shaking off all the sadness. It was skit day, so every ward created a fun little skit to show to everyone else. Ours was about the show "the Apprentice". It was hilarious! After the skits, everyone stood in a circle and sang special, individual songs about the Savior. That was called Singing in the Trees. Then, halfway through, Ashley and Nicole came back! Makelle and I pounced on her afterwards. That was probably one of the best nights.

Thursday was a blast! We started off the day with a hike that was at 4:30 AM! (yeah, I know). I was the only girl from our ward who went. Later that day, we had a water fight. We all put water in our mouths and spat at each other. IT WAS AWESOME!!! That night was Testimony Night. You're a whimp if you don't cry on Testimony Night. Period, no excuses.

Not much happened on Friday, except that we went home. It was a great week.
